Ovex Threadworm Treatment
- Ovex is a medicine which is used to treat threadworm (sometimes known as pinworm) infections of the gut.
- The tablet contains mebendazole, which is one of a group of medicines called ‘anthelmintics’.
- This medicine is for use in adults and children aged over 2 years.
- All members of the family should be treated at the same time. Another tablet can be used 2 weeks after initial tablet if reinfection occur.

| Warnings | Preparation and Usage DOSAGE: For oral administration. THE TREATMENT IS A SINGLE TABLET PER PERSON. Adults and children over 2 years: Take one tablet only. The tablets are orange-flavoured and may be chewed or swallowed whole. Crush tablet before giving to young children. Not recommended in children under 2 years. A single dose of Ovex™ will kill threadworms. However, it may not destroy their eggs, which can cause re-infection and also infect other people. It is therefore strongly recommended that all members of the family (except pregnant and breast-feeding women and children under two) are treated at the same time and that precautions are taken to prevent re-infection. If symptoms continue, tell your doctor. In case of re-infection, a second tablet can be taken after two weeks. For further information, see enclosed leaflet.
